Carl has been active
in radio since the age of 10, constructing crystal radios and shortwave
listening. Became WN6RMN in 1969 and has operated from South Dakota,
Illinois, South Korea, China and California and life member of the
ARRL. He and his wife Cathy K6VC’s share a ham shack in Perris,
CA is made up of a US Tower 90’, Stepper MonstIR - 6m thru
40m, 160m 80m – 2m /220m/70cm.
Service to the community: Orange Section Manager, (Orange, Inyo,
Riverside, and San Bernardino County), a voluntary/elected position.
Special appointment by the ARRL President to the Ad Hoc Planning
Committee (National Committee Authorized by the AARL Board in 2002)
ARRL Technical Specialist RF, Wrote articles for Radio Frequency
Interference “How to find it and Fix it” 1991. Past
president of the Southern California DX Club, Chairperson of the
International DX Convention, base Mars Director, Amateur Radio Instructor,
VE ARRL, W5YI, scoutmaster, Arrowhead Council scoutmaster training
coordinator, Indian guides/princesses YMCA nation chief.
Awards: Southern California DX Club DXer of the year 2000, DXCC,
WAS, WAZ, Bicentennial WAS award, The Volunteer Service Award Rapid
City, South Dakota 1972 Flood, BSA Silver Beaver Award, District
Achievement Award, Wood Badge.
Carl is retired Air Force, Missile Facilities R&D, employed
at UC Irvine as project manager/supervisor for past 6 years. Carl
has a B.S. degree in Business Management from University of Redlands
and certificates from UC Riverside in Facility Management and Educational
Facilities.
