Howard Burkhart ,
KB6MYE is an Emergency Medical Technician-B, and a first-aid and
Disaster Preparedness Instructor. With over 23 years of volunteer
and paid experience in emergency medicine and disaster response,
he has seen what works in the field, and what doesn't. He has held
an American Red Cross National Disaster Worker credential, and is
now a member of LAFD's and LASD's disaster radio teams, and the
L.A. County DMAT.
Moreover, as the past owner of a business supplying first-aid and
disaster preparedness supplies to businesses and individuals, he
has seen the good, bad, and the ugly of those supplies. Now, as
an Insurance Agent, he has an added perspective to disaster recovery.
"Disaster Preparedness for the Amateur Radio Operator--What
to Do When your Radio Brings You NO HELP" is a look at both
