He went on to write curriculum that uses Ham Radio as the theme to teach and it was accepted and printed by the Board and to this day is the only Ham curriculum certified by a Board of Education in the Nation.

EDUCOM-Education Thru Communication from 1980 to 2003 became the only program he taught. Joe wanted to share this educational success with others and formed a non-profit organization in 1980, The Radio Club of Junior High School 22. Known as the “22 Crew” Joe now is full time with the group which is the only non-profit nationwide that works to get Ham Radio into schools around the country as a teaching theme via the EDUCOM program, also Radio Club of JHS 22 is NYC’s largest amateur radio club..
