XE2BC, Club de Radio
Experimentadores de Baja California, (CREBC), was founded in 1946.
It is the oldest formed club in Baja California Mexico. The club
enjoys membership of both Mexican nationals and U.S. citizens that
are retired in the area. Owning a complete radio station and building
allows for many international amateur contacts. Located in the Tijuana
area, XE2BC has several Mexico amateur firsts: First VHF EME contact
with the U.S. in 1979. First 220 EME contact with the U.S. in 1980.
First 6 meter weak signal contacts in 1981.Many awards from the
ARRL and other amateur groups adorn the club house attesting to
the membership’s commitment to amateur and public service.
The club station operates all bands in HF, VHF/UHF FM,
to include packet and soundcard data modes and IRLP. Members enjoy
DX, contesting, and even a good CW rag chew. Public service during
disasters and special events allows XE2BC to maintain good amateur
skills. A multi hilltop system of VHF and UHF linked repeaters
provide wide area coverage to Baja amateurs and the traveling
tourist.
Please visit us as we meet every Monday evening at 7pm.
Talk in frequency is 146.940 minus PL 186.2 Hz.
